Andrew Serrano is dead, obituary 2021 – Cause of death

Court documents show that a local family is suing Perez Funeral Home, Bellevue Cemetery and Lawrence City because their relatives’ coffins were thrown into the graves, cracked, and the bodies fell out. The family of the late Andrew Serrano died on March 29, 2019. He was a resident of Puerto Rico and Lawrence.

He filed a lawsuit in the Essex High Court on Wednesday, alleging multiple negligence and negligence. Charge of recklessness causing emotional distress. Serrano’s family signed a contract with Perez Funeral Home after his death.

The lawsuit alleges that during Serrano’s burial in Bellevue Cemetery on April 5, 2019, “a side band on the city-owned coffin lowering device broke, causing Serrano to break. Mr.’s coffin fell into the grave and broke.”

“When the coffin broke, Mr. Serrano’s body fell out of the coffin, fell into the grave, and began to seep liquid.” In front of the “terrified family members”, they obviously became distraught and hysterical. Wrote in the lawsuit.

Several family members “jumped into the grave” to take care of the corpse, and the corpse was eventually removed and taken back to the funeral home. According to the lawsuit, Serrano finally rested in peace a few days later. The lawsuit named E & J Memorial Services, Inc. of Lawrence City as Perez Funeral Home, Bellevue Cemetery Board, and Bellevue Cemetery Board.

Nine counts were listed in the lawsuit, which specified negligence and the emotional distress caused by negligence and recklessness. These include the City of Lawrence, funeral homes, and cemeteries “bearing responsibility…to handle Mr. Serrano’s body in a correct and dignified manner.”

The lawsuit was brought by Methuen’s lawyer Danilo Gomez. According to court documents, the family is seeking damages of at least US$50,001. A representative of Perez’s funeral home could not be immediately reached for comment. Staff reporter Julie Manganis contributed to this story.
