Boruto shows the special bond between Kawaki and Naruto

Episode 193 of the anime brings Naruto and Kawaki together as Naruto officially begins to keep an eye on him while keeping him protected from Kara’s interests. This is a movement against which Naruto had been advised against by Shikamaru, but he decides to do so because Kawaki reminds him a lot of his previous situation of being overwhelmed with a power that was not his own.

When Kawaki wakes up after his escape attempt in previous episodes, Naruto officially introduces himself to Kawaki and tells him that he will be under his protection. Kawaki initially refuses and even tries to escape, but Naruto is there waiting with each step.

He begins to see himself in the young Kawaki, since the Third Hokage gave him an opportunity when he was young and hopes to do the same for Kawaki.
