During his tenure as a resource development manager at Goler Community Development Corporation in Winston Salem, North Carolina, Calvin wrote and contributed to more than $10 million in grants and loans from the federal government, state and local governments, and private foundations. Calvin is the Chairman and CEO of Earnest Harvest, LLC.

He founded the company in 2005 to develop the capabilities of non-profit start-ups and for-profit enterprises.
