Prominent Iranian cartoonist Derambakhsh dies of COVID-19 – “Although Derambakhsh has passed away, his precious heritage, that understood the Iranian people, will stay forever in our memories,”.
According to media reports on Sunday, the famous Iranian cartoonist Kambiz Derambakhsh published and exhibited his works of art around the world. He died of Covid-19 at the age of 79. Drumbachsh was born in the southern city of Shiraz. During his 60-year career, his cartoons have won praises at home and abroad.
His paintings have been published in newspapers such as the United States and Germany, and his works have been exhibited as far away as Japan. This artist is known for his role representing an ordinary person without a face, which he outlines with simple lines.
Iran’s Minister of Culture, Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili, said in a statement: “Even though Dran Bachsh has passed away, he understands that the precious heritage of the Iranian people will remain in our memory forever. .” In 2014, he was awarded the prestigious French Knights of Arts and Letters in recognition of his work. Iran has always been the Middle Eastern country hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
