Chaka Zulu dead or still alive? TI shot overnight in Buckhead

Atlanta police said he was a surviving victim of Sunday’s Buckhead shooting. A longtime Atlanta music executive was shot and killed in Buckhead Sunday night, police confirmed. Chaka Zulu, co-CEO of Disturbing Tha Peace Records, was shot and killed at a location near Peachtree Road at around 11:35 p.m. where two other men were shot. All three were taken to hospital, but one did not survive. Atlanta police said homicide detectives were responding to the scene and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Officials at the scene told 11Alive that the shooting stemmed from an argument in the parking lot behind the center of Peachtree Road Boulevard.

Police have no suspects in custody and have not released any information on the Zulu or other surviving victims. Police said they said the investigation was still ongoing and would continue.

Zulu is best known for being the manager of hip-hop artist Ludacris. His label, Disturbing Tha Peace Records, is now a subsidiary of Def Jam, with artists such as Chingy, Bobby Valentino, Young Jeezy, Swizz Beatz, Big K.R.I.T., and more. and childish major.

He most recently served as Spotify’s head of artist and talent, according to a bio on the Home Depot Backyard Juneteenth event page. He was previously vice president of sports and entertainment marketing at Monster, the company formerly behind the Beats by Dre headphones.

According to a biography on the National Black College Hall of Fame Foundation website, he is the name of T.I., Ludacris, 2 Chainz, Travis Scott, Iggy Azalea, Outkast, Cee-Lo Green, 8 Ball & MJG, B.O.B., Dj Drama and Big K.R.I.T.

Earlier this year, Zulu was awarded the ninth recipient of the Forever 404 honor by Sharecare during a game against the Atlanta Hawks.
