We lost a legend! The Great New England Wr David Patten was killed in a Motorcycle accident!!!! Columbia, SC love you bro RIH
In 2001, each member of the New England Patriots played a role in their own unique way, helping the team beat the St. Louis Rams 20-17 in the final second of the 36th Super Bowl to win the team. The first champion in history.
David’s three touchdown performances in the Patriots game against Indianapolis on October 21, 2001, made him the sixth player in NFL history to run, catch and throw touchdowns in a single game. He finished the regular season with 51 receptions for 749 yards and used Tom Brady’s 8-yard pass to record New England’s only offense in Super Bowl XXXVI victory in the Patriots’ win over the Rams.
In 2013, David returned to his alma mater, West Carolina University (where he played from 1992 to 1995) to complete his bachelor’s degree in social work. He is also an assistant coach for Catamounts. He is reportedly now pastor of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. David’s son Daquan is West Carolina’s first-year wide receiver.
