Jack Hirschman, one of the founders and directors of WPM (World Poetry Movement), is a loyal reader and listener of Turkish poetry, especially the poetry of Nâzım Hikmet.
On Sunday August 22nd, in our last regular online interview as WPM Coordinating Committee, Hirschman said goodbye at his home in San Francisco a few minutes before his speech (starting at 5pm Turkey time). Close friends and other activists. This is a great loss for American and world poetry.
The poems of Jack Hirschman have been translated into the major languages of the world, who was also the pioneer and director of the San Francisco Revolutionary Poets Brigade.
WPM shares its humanistic and revolutionary ideals with poets from around the world, and will immortalize the memory of this great poet, we will continue to work hard and carry out activities for a freer, fairer and more equal world.
