Derrick J Wyatt dead, artist and designer of animated characters – Obituary 2021

Rest In Peace Derrick J. Wyatt. He was the artist who inspired me to keep drawing even when I became discouraged, he shaped the art I’ve made. The work he did for not only Ben 10, but all his other projects, showed how talented and passionate he was in everything he did

Our hobby would literally not be the same without @DerrickJWyatt. I don’t think there will ever be another who leaves a singular impact on Transformers like he did. He was an inspiration, and an extraordinary man besides that. He will be sorely missed. RIP.

Derrick J. Wyatt was born on August 10, 1972 in Popo, Michigan. He is an animated character artist and designer. He attended the Art School in Joe Kubert, New Jersey. One of his teachers was José Delbo and the other was Kim Demulder. Later, he got an internship opportunity at Spumco, California, and became a full-time job for the company. Derek left Spumco and then got a job at Warner Bros. Animation, where he was involved as a designer in the design of the comedy and wrestling series “Musia Lucha”. There, he joined the staff of “Young Titans” and “Superheroes Legion” as a full-time character designer. Later, he participated in Transformers Animation, Scooby Doo S.A. and Ben 10 Omniverse.
