Donovan Thomas Jr dead, Young Thug arrested in Atlanta

Grammy-winning Atlanta rapper Young Thug was arrested and jailed at the Fulton County Jail on gang charges, online prison records show.

Jeffery Lamar Williams, 30, was sent to jail Monday on two separate charges, according to prison records. He is charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and participation in street gang activity.

Prison records show Williams’ legal charges against RICO stem from an alleged criminal offense in January 2013, while the gang activity charges relate to charges in May 2018.

The influential rapper was taken into custody by Atlanta police, but the department has not released any information about the arrest. A police spokeswoman asked the Fulton County Attorney’s Office directly.

The Fulton prosecutor’s office did not respond to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s request for more information.
