Francis Ebo Cann was born to Mr Francis Sylvester Cann and Georgina Ofosuah in a well-disciplined family Growing up in middle school, the education he received greatly influenced his career.

Dr Cann, from Saltpond, Midlands, is married to Mrs Dorcas Cann and has two sons, Nigel and Nino Cann

On the road to a pioneering radio career, Dr. Cann trained at Winneba Normal University and tuned to a campus radio station in 2002, when Ekuoba Gyesi of Atinka fm was the station’s manager. Harriet Takyi Menson of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) was also present.

Due to his achievements on campus radio, Ekuoba Gyesi and Harriet Takyi Menson recommended him to train at GBC, where he trained for about 4 months before being brought back to Normal University campus radio.

At GBC, Dr. Cann is trained by instructors such as Charley Sam, Getrude Opare Addo and John Hammond.

Before joining Happy Fm in Accra, Dr. Cann worked for Sunrise FM in Koforidua, GBC Radio in Accra and Radio Winbay in Cape Coast

Because of his training, Dr. Cann can DJ and do great interviews before hosting Showbiz Xtra, and he also hosts a morning show on Happy FM.

Currently on Happy Fm, Dr. Cann, by the way, is one of the most popular and most listened entertainment shows; Showbiz Xtra, which airs every Wednesday and Saturday.

Showbiz Xtra has been rebranded with some new segments. The show used to have little time to delve into pressing issues in the entertainment industry, but now it unfolds with interesting twists.

With the efforts of its outspoken and astute panelists such as popular entertainer managers Bulldog, Mr. Logic, Mel Akwesi Davis, Enock Agyapong, Ricky Anokye and its professional producers such as Prince Johnson, DJ Sticker and Dj Yce , Happy FM management has added an hour to the Saturday show now, changing the time from 7am to 10am and from 6am to 10am.
