Drew lee dead and obituary, KTLK Minneapolis Morning Co-Host

Drew Lee, half member of iHeartMedia News/Talk KTLK-AM Minneapolis (1130)’s “Justice & Drew” morning show, died unexpectedly over the weekend. No cause of death was released.

“This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my entire broadcasting career,” co-host Jon Justice announced Monday morning (June 26) from a hospital ward as he recovered from open-heart surgery. “I wish I could be in the studio but I’m here to tell you that my friend and your friend Drew Lee passed away on Saturday afternoon. He was with his wife at the time.

I hope to be home sometime today , but I have asked me to be the one to announce this devastating and tragic news to you. Drew is my best friend…I don’t need to tell you how special he is. Needless to say, I am devastated. He will be Tragically missed. Everyone at iHeart is in mourning. We ask your prayers for Drew’s family as they go through this difficult time.”

Lee has been with the network since 2010 and serves as executive producer and co-host of the morning show. He also co-hosts The Minnesota Beercast with Andrew Schmitt. Before joining KTLK, Lee held programming roles at Journal Broadcast Group and Entercom.

“It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we learn of the passing of our friend and colleague Andrew Lee on Saturday, June 25,” the channel said in an online post.
