Designer Federica Cavenati, known to friends as Kikka, has tragically passed away at the age of 28 after a brief illness, her family confirmed.
Cavenati, who co-founded London-based label 16Arlington with partner Marco Capaldo, has become known for creating the label’s signature glamor with some of the world’s most famous celebrities, including Amal Clooney, Kendall Jenner and Chrissy Teigen. The brand is also known for its fun and imaginative London Fashion Week shows, where the likes of Lena Dunham have walked the runway.
16Arlington’s team released a statement describing the “unpredictable sense of loss” they felt.
“The designer passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021, following a short, sudden illness,” the statement said. “She is survived by her mother, father and brother, as well as her life partner, 16Arlington co-founder Marco Capaldo. She Together with Marco we have built a company that is redefining the glamor of London.”
“The word ‘special’ doesn’t feel like an adequate map to Kikka’s force field of optimism, enthusiasm, and kindness, but it’s certainly the most direct way to capture her.” Kikka is a ray of white light; an unmistakable energy and the most inspiring, Loyal friend, Studio 16Arlington will no longer be roaring with her mischievous laugh and boundless thirst for creativity, a tragic loss for all those fortunate enough to know her.
“She will be missed forever.”
Capaldo will launch an unprecedented collection in her honor in February 2022. Our thoughts are with her friends and family.
