Gwen, the 17-year-old daughter of U.S. Rep. Sean Carsten, died Monday morning, his office said.
Details of her death were not released.

“The Casten family has requested privacy and we will not be making any further comment at this heartbreaking time,” said a statement from Casten’s office.
A spokesman for the Downers Grove Democratic Party, which operates on the Sixth Circuit, declined to comment further.
Gwen Casten is her father’s 2020 re-election intern.
In an interview with Newsy earlier this month, Casten said that in response to mass school shootings, Gwen organized a program to teach teens how to treat gunshot wounds.
