Fans were shocked when YouTuber IShowSpeed revealed more than he expected during his first livestream due to health concerns. The anchor, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., is finally back after he couldn’t open his right eye last month due to swelling from a severe sinus infection.
Speed was also diagnosed with cluster headaches, a rare condition that causes irregular, painful headaches on one side of the head. “I’m currently suffering from cluster headaches. A fatal headache disorder,” he said in the video.
“I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, I can’t do anything right now.” Despite the fear, “Speed” resumed streaming on Aug. 15, celebrating reaching 19 million subscribers on YouTube.
But the next day, Speed found himself in an embarrassing situation — one that could easily have gotten him banned from YouTube. After getting scared while playing Five Nights at Freddy’s, Speed started yelling at one of the characters and stood up.
In the process, he accidentally revealed himself to an audience of 24,000. He quickly sat back down when he realized what had happened.
Speed himself seemed shocked, saying, “Oh my god,” before ending the stream. Clips of the moment were immediately shared on social media, with fans expressing their shock at what happened. “What did ISHOWSPEED do?” wrote one Twitter user.
“IShowSpeed has a classic event,” wrote another user, referring to the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie. Fellow streamers Adin Ross and Sneako shared their thoughts on the incident, with Ross suggesting it may be fake. “It was a joke,” Sneko said.
