Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp

A viral video imagines what would happen if Jason Momoa (left) were called to testify in a defamation trial against Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The fake video uses audio from a video interview Momma conducted, clips from the courtroom and Depp’s laughter.

The video shows Momoa appearing via a video link in footage obtained during a previous Zoom interview with him. Other voices in the video were dubbed, including Momoa’s “testimony,” questions from Heard’s attorney and Depp’s uncontrollable laughter.

The original two-minute video garnered nearly 450,000 views on YouTube, but it garnered an additional 5.2 million views after it was shared on TikTok.

The video, titled “Jason Momoa Takes a Stand in the Johnny Depp Amber Heard Trial DUB,” jokingly imagines a scene on the set of Aquaman in which Momoa claims Heard was defecating in a pool. The joke was linked to claims Heard left “feces” on Depp’s bed, which she denies.

On YouTube, the current trending comments are, “I really think it’s true because the process is so crazy,” while other commenters wrote, “So. freak out legit!!!” and “This deserves an Oscar. !”

TikTok users were also duped, as some of the top-rated comments were: “Why I think it’s real lmao”, “Don’t think it’s real” and “For a minute I thought it was real”.

Celebrities testified during the trial. Both Depp and Heard spoke out, and actress Ellen Barkin testified via video. Elon Musk and James Franco were called as witnesses by Hurd’s team, but they did not appear at the trial.
