The Castleford Tigers say they are dealing with internal issues after a video of striker Joe Westerman went viral on social media. A video posted on Sunday afternoon appeared to show the 33-year-old having public sex with a woman online.
It comes at a bad time for the Tigers and the Premier League as the scandal comes just days before the start of the new season. Lee Radford’s side take on one of Westman’s former clubs, Hull FC, on Sunday. Westerman is a key player for the Tigers. He will take home all the trophies at the club awards night after the 2022 season.
The Tigers said in a statement: “The Castleford Tigers are aware of a video of a player circulating on social media yesterday afternoon. The matter is being dealt with internally and the club will not be making any further comment at this time.”

The video was quickly shared by rugby league fans and prompted the player to go viral on Twitter, with his wife (who is not the woman in the video) taking to social media herself to discuss the video and clarify that she is not the one in it woman. The woman introduces.
She posted; “Can I make it very clear this isn’t me!!!!!! We have three kids and one of them is almost 15 and she doesn’t need to see things like this on social media!”
The 33-year-old Westerman played a total of 387 games for England in his career. He is currently on his second spell at Castleford and has also spells at Hull FC, Warrington Wolves, Toronto Wolves and Wakefield Trinity.
