Katheryn Winnick (born December 17, 1977 in Katrusia Anna Vinitska) is a Canadian film and television actress, director, and producer. She played Ragsha in the history channel TV series Vikings. Winnick completed her college education at York University in Toronto. She studied acting at the William Esper Studio in New York.

She is best known for her glimpses in Entertainment (2008), Bones (2010) and Charles Swann III. In 2013, she starred in the comedy film The Fix with Kurt Russell and Matt Dillon.

Winnick directed an episode of Vikings that premiered in 2020. Her portrayal of Ragasa has won her many impressive accolades, including the Best Actress Award in the Female Image Network Drama Series (2018) and the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress Nomination in the Drama Series.

Ukrainian is the first language of Catherine. She started speaking English at the age of eight. She speaks five languages: English, Ukrainian, French, Russian and Italian.

She started learning martial arts at the age of seven and got her first black belt at the age of 13. She opened her first dojo at the age of 16, and it has since expanded to three locations in Toronto and New York.

By the age of 21, this dojo has expanded to three locations. Her original last name, Winnicki, means “winemaker”. She has a 3rd grade black belt in Taekwondo and a 2nd grade black belt in Karate. She won the silver medal in the Canadian National Taekwondo Final.
