Kristi Toliver new assistant coach for Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are hiring two-time WNBA champion Kristi Toliver as an assistant coach, sources tell ESPN. Toliver, who’s playing for the LA Sparks this season, spent parts of two seasons on the Wizards coaching staff.

Kristi Renee Toliver (born January 27, 1987) is an American-Slovak professional basketball player for the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks. During the WNBA rookie season, Tolliver signed an endorsement deal with Nike.

Toliver was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia, to George Toliver and Peggy Toliver. Her father is a former NBA referee. Kristi graduated from Harrisonburg High School in 2005. During her high school career, Toliver was named McDonald’s National, Women’s Basketball Coach Association (WBCA) National, Parade National, EA Sports National, and USA Today. All members of the US basketball team are also the Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year and Virginia Basketball Lady. She participated in the 2005 WBCA High School National Games and the 2005 McDonald’s National Games.
