The Denver Police Department is investigating two shootings — one near Denver East High School and the other near Denver Public Schools headquarters. At 2:57 p.m., the department posted a tweet about a shootout in Precinct 17 and the Espalande area.
One victim was taken to hospital. The Denver Police Department did not release the victim’s condition. Five minutes later, the department posted a tweet about the 18th and the Lincoln shooting. One victim was taken to hospital with “unspecified injuries”.
Investigations into both shootings are ongoing. It is not yet known if the two shootings are related.
Pre-registration for new students is now open and parents are welcome to drop off registration materials at the school during our Wednesday office hours from 9am to 1pm or email them to yasmin.castellanos@slcschools.org or maritza.gannon @slcschools.org.
After your student has pre-registered with East, you will receive a confirmation email with her/his enrollment number and contact information for the Advising Centre.
During the summer, you will receive a welcome letter with information on how to complete the student registration process. If you are not in East High School and want your student to attend East High, you must apply for deferred entry. You can find the link on our Ost website from Monday 18 July 2022. You will receive an email with an administrator reply. Your student will not be able to register in August until the late registration request is approved and you have accepted the administrator’s approval and submitted your files.
