The statement stated that Exum was accused of stabbing her boyfriend with a kitchen knife at some point during the dispute. The man was taken to the hospital, where he was classified as stable.
According to the police and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, Exum was summoned and charged with a second-degree felony. She later forwarded a short video to her Instagram account, where she has more than 38,000 followers. This video seems to be taken by a friend, and the video shows her sitting in a place that looks like a police station. “They took my phone, all of you, I am [now] in trouble,” she wrote. Exum played Akon’s song “Locked Up” in a several-second clip. The district attorney’s office said she has been released without bail.
