After years of rumors, Nintendo is finally bringing Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games to its Switch Online service. The company announced during its latest Nintendo Direct that games from its early handhelds will launch on the Switch today.

Game Boy games to play the rest of the week are Tetris, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Gold, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX, Gargoyle Quest, Game & Watch Gallery 3, Alone in the Dark: A New Nightmare, Metroid 2: Return of Samus, Wario Land 3, and Kirby’s Neverland.
You can play games with screen filters for Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, and Game Boy Color. Other filters include “Recreate classic feel” and “Show on small screens.” Local and online play for two players is also supported.
As for GBA games, today you can enjoy Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, WarioWare Inc: Mega Microgames, Kuru Kuru Kururin, Mario Kart Super Circuit, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap play. Supports local and online four-player multiplayer.
Game Boy games will be available in the base version of Switch Online. You must select Switch Online + Expansion Pack to access the GBA pack. More games for both platforms will be added later, including several Legend of Zelda games, the Pokémon trading card game, Metroid Fusion, and Fire Emblem.
