Marcus Bellamy, a Broadway dancer who starred in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, strangled his friend Bernardo in August 2016 for psychosis caused by meth use Bernardo Almonte, sentenced to 20 years in prison.

After the murder, Bellamy posted on Facebook that is still active today: “I do it for love. I do it because I love you. He told me that love and hate are the same feeling.”

Bellamy had posted a series of disturbing comments Thursday and Friday in the hours leading up to the murder, one saying God had told him Donald Trump would “pass away” before he was elected president and another speaking of “whispering through the Walls”.”

According to the New York Daily News, when Bellamy was sentenced, Almonte’s mother asked him in court why he killed her son: “No one deserves to die like you killed my son. It’s inhumane. No reason. He was taken away, and I still don’t know why. Only you can answer this question for me: Why did you kill my son?”.

Bellamy told the court: “I want to apologise to the family. Bernardo is very special and he didn’t deserve what happened to him. You asked me why your son took a lot of meth with me. I thought your son was the devil that day. “I don’t want to do what I did. I want to clarify. I love Bernardo. He got me out of my depression. I don’t want to destroy anyone.”
