According to two senior police officers, Malika Shabaz, the daughter of civil rights activist Malcolm X, was found dead in her Brooklyn home on Monday night.Police officials told New York NBC that the 56-year-old Shabaz was found unconscious and unresponsive at her home on East 28th Street in Midwood before 4:30 pm. She was later pronounced dead.

Her death came less than a week after the two convicted murderers of Malcolm X were acquitted for decades after suspecting who was responsible for the death of this civil rights icon.
Regarding the sudden death of Shabazz, Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter Bernice King wrote: “I am deeply saddened by the passing of #MalikahShabazz. My heart is with her family, the descendants of Dr. Betty Shabazz. Marko M. X.”
