“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away,” he wrote in the post.

Roden is one of the brightest stars in bodybuilding, having won the discipline’s top event, the Olympia, in 2018. Roden defeated seven-time Olympia champion Phil Heath that year to become the oldest contender to win the prestigious title at the age of 43.

According to Iron Generation, Roden suffered a heart attack that tragically took his life. Rodon’s coach, Chris Arceto, confirmed his death to close friends, Iron Generation reported.

Rhoden started bodybuilding as an amateur in the early 1990s, competing on and off over the years. However, he had to deal with various injuries, and after his father’s death in 2002, he started drinking heavily and reportedly became addicted.

Years later, after a slow recovery, Roden returned to the sport, eventually earning his professional card from the International Federation of Bodybuilding in 2010.
