Abiodun Taiwo, assistant secretary of NUJ in Ogun State, confirmed the sudden death. Taiwo said that Amosu died after a short illness and was shocked by what he called “irreparable losses.” Amosu is an aboriginal of Oke Ore, a local government district in the southern part of Yewa, Ogun Prefecture.

He was born on June 22, 1968. The graduate of Mass Communication was elected as the Chairman of the Ogun NUJ in 2019, at a time he was completing a tenure as the Secretary of the council.

Although his election was disbanded by NUJ National Chairman Chris Iziguzo, who said it did not comply with Article 5, Paragraph 10 of the Trade Union Constitution, Amosu submitted a request to the National Industrial Court and maintained the election in February 2021.
