Terror? According to NASA, a volcano in the United States could be a real threat

UNITED STATES.- The POT has been given the task of alerting about the yellowstone supervolcano on USA. In this way, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration revealed that it could be a truly catastrophic situation for all of humanity if it were to erupt, which has attracted the attention of the whole world and has even generated a stir.

In this sense, it is worth noting that this geographic body is located in Yellowstone National Park between Wyoming, Idaho and Montana, United States. Also, the POT has reported that the supervolcano is classified as this type due to its eruptive capacity, which is estimated to be 100 times greater than other volcanoes that are considered normal.

Similarly, the POT has reported that, if the supervolcano erupts, it would generate a volcanic winter. This is based on the creation of a cloud composed of ash that would substantially modify the climate. In addition, this would make it difficult to access natural resources and food. Thus, the scenario would look really catastrophic as the world would go into famine.

In the same vein, it is worth noting that the United Nations has estimated that food reserves throughout the Earth would last only 74 days in the event of a worst-case scenario. For this reason, volcanologists have warned about this phenomenon, since recently some alerts have been issued about various volcanoes that could become active, such as Xinantécatl, located in Toluca, Mexico.

On the other hand, experts believe that this supervolcano had its origin 600 thousand years ago. In addition, it has been specified that its last eruption occurred approximately 175 thousand years ago. Also known as the Yellowstone caldera, it measures approximately 55 x 72 km and is located in the northwest corner of Wyoming, right where the famous park is located.
