Chicago police confirmed Wednesday that officers have responded to an incident at the Willis Tower. Tense moments were reported Wednesday afternoon at the Willis Tower when someone reported an active shooter on the iconic skyscraper’s 50th floor in the Loop, police said.

Willis Tower staff and visitors were spooked Wednesday afternoon by reports of an active shooter on the 50th floor of the Loop’s iconic skyscraper, police said.
“Active shooter” calls at 233 S. Wacker Dr. Chicago police spokesman Tom Ahern confirmed that this was not in good faith.
Some workers on the 50th floor were allowed to return to their desks as of 3:15 p.m. after officers searched the floor, police said.
Others on some lower floors appeared to be taking cover, police said.
Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said the ambulance did not respond.
