Jan Norris actress dead and Obituary, cause of death - what's happened?

Jan Norris was born Janice Anita Grimes on September 2, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She is an actress, best known for “A Man’s World” (1962), “Brilliant in the Grass” (1961) and “Late Night” (1959). She is married to Archie Archambault and Robert Le Maire. She died on October 26, 1985 in Van Nuys, California, USA.

Jan was born in Chicago and lived there until her parents divorced when she was 5 years old in 1945, and she moved with her mother to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There, she attended Mount Assisi College, a Catholic girls’ school. She later took ballet classes and her love of dance ranged from ballet to modern dance.

Her interest and talent in acting led her to take acting classes and eventually perform at the Pittsburgh Theater, where she gained widespread attention for her on-stage efforts. She started using the stage name “Jane Norris” using her stepfather’s last name, Chester Norris.

Moved to New York at the age of 17, joined the cast of the hit Broadway show Happy Hunt, and later played Goldilocks on Broadway. In New York, she met aspiring actress Archie Archambault and married him 18 months later.
In 1959, they moved to California and began raising two boys, Clint and David Joseph.

Jane eventually landed acting roles in three Hollywood films. She is best known for her role in the 1961 film Splendor in the Grass, starring Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood. In 1962, she also starred in the TV series “The World of Men” and starred in several other TV series.

Jane’s acting career came to an abrupt end when she suffered a brain aneurysm at the age of 24, leaving her with a disability that never fully recovered. Due to this disability, she died in 1985.
NOTE: Jane’s cemetery memorial identifies her as “Janice Le Maire” because of her secret marriage to Robert Le Maire, which is said to have happened shortly before her death.
