Bishop Daniel Dolan dead and obituary, Daniel Lytle Dolan cause of death

It seems that somehow word has gotten out faster than we ourselves could get it out. I regret to confirm/inform everyone that Bp. Dolan has passed away suddenly today, April 26, Mother of Good Counsel. Please pray for his soul and for all of us.

Daniel Lytle Dolan was born on May 28, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan, United States. In 1965, he began preparing to serve as a clergyman at the Archbishop’s Little Seminary in Detroit. He went on to study at the Cistercian Order and the Seminary of the Fraternity of Traditionalism of St. Pius X (SSPX) in Eckone, Switzerland.

In 1973, as a seminary student at Écône, he concluded that the “only logical explanation” for the new Mass and Vatican II’s alleged heresy was Pope Paul VI. lost the Pope. Since then, he has held the position of Sedevacantism.

On June 29, 1976, Dolan was ordained a priest at the Écône by SSPX Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. In 1977, Dolan returned to the United States, where he established more than 35 traditionalist mass centers.

Lefebvre instructs the American SSPX priests to follow the liturgical books of 1962. Dolan and eight other American priests refused to do so. On April 27, 1983, these nine priests, along with some sympathetic seminary students, were immediately expelled from the SSPX for refusing to use the 1962 Mass and for other reasons, such as objecting to Lefebvre’s order that SSPX priests must accept invalid orders. The verdict of the Diocesan Marriage Court and their disapproval of the SSPX’s policy of admitting new members to the association who would be admitted under the liturgy as amended by Paul VI. ordained a priest. These priests established the Society of St. Pius V (SSPV) almost immediately.

In 1989, Fathers Dolan and Anthony Cekada (another of nine American priests expelled by the SSPX in 1983) left the SSPV[4] for reasons including senior generals refusing to accept Sedevacantist bishops appointed by or at Clarence Validity of Kelly Ngô Đình Thục Bishop’s Lineage. Other original SSPV priests later followed suit. [4] Dolan continued to work at his main church in West Chester, Ohio, USA.

In 1989, he contacted the American Puritan Church of the Immaculate Conception (CMRI). Subsequent discussions indicated agreement on important theological issues. In 1992, Bishop Mark Pivarunas of CMRI asked Father Dolan to be ordained a bishop. In 1993, Dolan hesitated for a long time, but agreed.
