Kailash Kher (born 7 July 1973) is an Indian singer and composer. The songs he sings have a musical style influenced by Indian folk and Sufi music. He was inspired by classical musicians Pandit Kumar Gandharva, Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Kher was awarded the Padma Shri Award by the Government of India in 2017. He also won two Best Male Singer Awards: one for the Hindi film Fanaa (2006) and one for the Telugu film Mirchi (2013), among several other nominations.

With a powerful voice and unique musical style, Kher has become one of the most popular singers in India.

Kerr was born on July 7, 1973, to a Kashmiri family in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father Mehar Singh Kher was a traditional folk singer. Kher’s first exposure to music was in his childhood.
