Chad Harris Hallmark dead and obituary, whats happened?

Crown Media Family Networks, the parent company of Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and Hallmark Drama, received an early Christmas gift this November with the news that its foray into the world of SVOD, Hallmark Movies Now, has more than 500,000 subscribers. Since then, the festive cheer has continued, with Hallmark’s three networks seeing even more growth thanks to popular seasonal programming events and a surge in SVOD subscribers (now over 600,000). “One of the big things that has made us successful, and what we’ve seen across linear platforms and this service, is not just the content itself, but the environment we’ve created around it,” senior Chad Harris Crown Media Family Networks’ vice president of new media and innovation told MediaVillage in a recent interview. “It’s very specific,” he continued. “We hear this time and time again from our fans. It’s a place where they can escape, have an exhilarating experience, and emerge with a better view of the world. We attribute a lot of this success to The fact that we all need it.”

Harris has held various positions at Crown Media since joining the company in 1999, initially as a producer on the Hallmark Channel Creative Services team. In addition to implementing and successfully launching the SVOD service, Harris oversees digital platforms, home entertainment and the newly launched Hallmark Publishing, which includes digital, print and audiobooks, collectively maintaining the current annual output of 17 titles per year.

With television viewers consuming content in ever-changing ways and more and more people joining the ranks of cord cutters, Crown Media Family Networks is in an enviable position for market growth. Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas franchise and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ festive event Miracles of Christmas continued to rack up massive ratings, beating all other networks during Q4 Weeks 18-49 and 25-54. Through Hallmark Movies Now, “Hallmarkies” (as members of the network’s vast online community are called) can access Hallmark’s vast library of content for a $5.99 monthly or $59.99 annual subscription. With new original shows coming to the service soon, Hallmark Movies Now may soon become an added must-have for any Hallmark lover.

“We’re seeing differences in how people receive services,” Harris said. “Some people want to try the service before committing, while others are already committed and know they want to have the experience year-round and opt for an annual subscription.”
