South Florida and the internet are mourning the loss of Antwain “TJ” Fowler, a 6-year-old social media star from Miami who died last week after a year-long battle with a rare disease.

Fowler rose to social media fame in 2019 after he hilariously asked, “Where are we eating now?” in a viral video that melted hearts and turned into a meme , Twitter reactions, and a popular phrase “hangry.” The video has been viewed nearly 25 million times on YouTube.

The young star’s memorial service began with a 5 p.m. balloon launch on Thursday. In Claude Pepper Park in North Miami. A public viewing will be held at the Bethel Apostik Temple on the Friday before Saturday’s funeral.

Fowler was diagnosed in 2015 with autoimmune bowel disease, a rare condition that attacks and destroys the lining of the gut, according to a GoFundMe page created by his mother, Christina Burns.

“Antwain has been hospitalized numerous times due to his failing health,” the website states. “Antwain has undergone more than 25 surgeries.”

Burns shared an update on her son’s health on social media, showing photos and videos of him smiling, laughing and joking between hospitalization and surgery.

“I’ve long wanted to hide you from the world, but you can’t be seen,” Burns wrote in the post next to her smiling son.
