Kyle Horton dead and obituary, Assistant Professor at Colorado State death

Kyle is an assistant professor in the CSU Department of Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Biology. From 2017 to 2019, he was a Ross Postdoctoral Fellow in the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology. His and his lab’s research focuses on studying bird, bat and insect migration using a range of tools and methods, including the use of radar, acoustic and citizen science data. His work addresses fundamental questions about migration and its biology, including understanding bird flight strategies, long-term phenological changes, population estimation, the effects of artificial light, and migration prediction. He completed his master’s degree with Jeffrey Buler at the University of Delaware and his Ph.D. with Jeffrey Kelly at the University of Oklahoma.
