A Mass of Christian Burial in honor of Ethan Hoger’s life is scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, December 16, at St. Pius V Catholic Church, 202 N 3rd St, New Salem. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 15, from 5 to 7 pm, with a rosary/vigil service at 7 pm at St. Pius V Catholic Church.

The New Salem community is mourning the loss of this beloved resident, and an obituary on the East Gate Funeral website has provided funeral details. Instead of flowers, the obituary suggests honoring Ethan’s memory by contributing to his children’s college fund.

Ethan Hoger, a graduate of New Salem High School and a student of Welding/Blueprints at Central Lakes College, leaves behind his wife, Taryn Hoger, and their two young children. The community has expressed deep sadness and offered support to the grieving family during this difficult time. Shiree Wolff, a neighbor, shared heartfelt condolences, stating, “Our hearts are breaking for our dear neighbors. We are so very sorry. Please let us know if there is anything we can do. Hoger’s aunt, Patricia Nelson, also reached out to Taryn, offering thoughts and prayers, saying, “Taryn, Uncle Grant and I are thinking of you, my thoughts and prayers are with you and love you lots. Aunt Pat.”
