Zimbabwe’s music and arts scene is mourning the loss of a talented individual as Terry G, also known as Tichaona Terrence Green, has passed away. His manager, Edison December, confirmed the heartbreaking news, revealing that Terry G succumbed to a cardiac arrest at Arundel Hospital in Harare. Terry, who battled cerebral palsy and was diagnosed with heart and lung disease, left an indelible mark on the music and entertainment industry. From the moment Tichaona Terrence Green was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth, he faced life in a wheelchair. However, Terry Gee defied the limitations of his condition, showcasing unparalleled determination to pursue his dreams without letting his disability define his capabilities.

Raised in a devout Christian family, Terry Gee discovered solace and inspiration in gospel music. A defining moment came during a prayer session when he felt a divine calling, with God’s voice whispering that his name was “born to worship.” This revelation fueled Terry Gee’s growing passion for gospel music, leading him to start singing in church at the tender age of eight.

Even in the face of physical challenges, Terry Gee’s dual talents in acting and music emerged early on. In 2003, he made a significant mark by featuring in the award-winning drama series “Zviri Mudzimba,” where he portrayed a key character. Despite encountering dreams of temporary able-bodiedness, Terry Gee remained dedicated to honing his craft and enhancing his skills.

Tichaona Terrence Green’s collaborative efforts extended beyond his solo career. Notably, he joined forces with Congolese singer Dispatch on the single titled “Jehova.” In 2022, he embarked on a collaboration with Chipo Muchegwa for “Ndezvemoyo,” followed by their second joint project, “Makanaka.” Terry Gee’s artistic journey reflects not only his resilience but also his unwavering commitment to sharing the gospel through music.
